The 2016 Estate Chardonnay is signature cool climate, foggy Green Valley in an exceptional vintage. It represents seven individual blocks on the estate giving it wonderful complexity with a silky texture.

The 2018 UnOaked Chardonnay is a pure expression of cool, foggy Green Valley. The wine is remarkably rich and
elegant. With their bright acidity, UnOaked Chardonnays are worth holding onto as they age so beautifully, if you can resist drinking them up.

The Gold Ridge is three clones of Pinot Noir were selected from four excellent sites on the estate to create this complex and elegant blend. The unifying factor is our highly prized Gold Ridge soil, among the most coveted, especially for Pinot Noir.

The Rued Clone is a special variety of Chardonnay, which matches perfectly with Green Valley’s cool, foggy climate and highly prized Gold Ridge soil, resulting in an exotic, yet crisp, mouthwatering wine with a pronounced stone fruit aroma.

The Home Block is three acres on the Iron Horse Estate on an east facing slope, planted to the Calera clone. As the name suggests, it lies adjacent to the home of Iron Horse founders Audrey and Barry Sterling. It is the most sheltered vineyard block on the home place.

Playing with the 2016 vintage we tasted a trial or lab blend of the most delicious three barrels of Rued Clone Chardonnay with the 10 best barrels of Hyde Old Wente and fell in love. It comes from what our winemaker calls the “heart of the vineyard” - a particular area on the eastern side of the estate that he is particularly attached to, which overlaps a few different “blocks” and amazingly, when outlined in a drone photograph, is heart-shaped.

The Deer Gate Block is on your right as you drive up the oak lined road and cross the cattle guard on your way to the winery. It expresses the ripest fruit on the estate and yet displays restraint and elegance. Light bodied yet complex.

North Block is a mere three acre “block-designate”, replanted in 2007, that spills out at your feet at the tasting room and down toward the creek bed. The texture of this wine is like soft, plush rose petals.
